1st Project Results Coming Soon

We are delighted to announce that the first round of project results will be announced shortly. Since our kick of meeting in Tralee, Ireland the consortium have been working hard conducting background research which will help us deliver a on our aim to improve humanism in healthcare education through the use of storytelling. We have conducted a concept analysis, literature scoping review, policy review and delhi study into the three core themes of the project, namely: humanism, IPE and storytelling. The reports will be uploaded to this website at the following times:

  • Concept Analysis: July 2020
  • Literature Review: August 2020
  • Policy Review: September 2020
  • Delphi Study: October 2020

StoryAidEU Presents 2nd #INHWELive

The StoryAidEU project has produced another video for the International Network for Health Workforce Education’s #INHWELive series.  The presentation looks at the concept analysis conducted by the consortium on humanism . You can watch project member Catrina Heffernan’s presentation on YouTube below.

The original idea for INHWE Live, shaped at the end of 2019, was to use INHWE’s many events to ensure that their members could share ideas with colleagues across the globe. Unfortunately this concept had to be put on hold but INHWE decided to test the idea by asking their members to record 20 minute presentations that they are willing to share on YouTube. These videos are then premiered at a set time and the presenter can answer questions live. 

Workshop Accepted for #INHWEDublin2021

StoryAidEU will be running a workshop at the 3rd European Conference of Health Workforce Education & Research to be held at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Coláiste Ríoga na Máinleá in Éirinn) in Dublin, Ireland on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January 2021. The congress is held once a year and is the prime meeting place for international health workforce educators, researchers and policy makers to network and exchange knowledge. This years theme is team based learning and leadership which ties in with the aims of the StoryAidEU project.  

2nd Interim Project Meeting Scheduled

The StoryAidEU Project Consortium prides itself on effective project management and in order to keep our tasks on track has organised a 2nd interim meeting of partners to discuss the intellectual outputs of the project. The meeting will take place at the end of July 2020 and the consortium will review the first three outputs from our research, comprising concept analyses on the topics of humanism, interprofessional education and storytelling. We will also be reviewing the progress of the literature reviews, policy reviews and delphi survey, with the view to ratifying all reports before the end of September, which marks the halfway mark in the project.

The congress is held once a year and is the prime meeting place for international health workforce educators, researchers and policy makers to network and exchange knowledge. This years theme is interprofessional education which ties in with the aims of the StoryAidEU project.  

2nd Project Meeting Held Online

The 2nd project meeting of the StoryAidEU consortium was due to be held in Prague, Czech Republic on Tuesday 17th March 2020. With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic the consortium decided to change to an online meeting held on the same day. Even with the difficulties of last minute cancellations and restrictive measures put in place in each partner country, the consortium still had a very productive meeting. Work to date was presented and actions plans have been updated to ensure the project meets its aims. Another follow up meeting will take place in late April where other project activities, such a dissemination and future meetings, will be discussed.

Kick Off Meeting in Tralee, Ireland

A kick off meeting for the StoryAidEU project was held at ITT in Tralee, Ireland. The meeting took place on the Tuesday 8th October 2019 and saw colleagues from the project consortium come together for the first time. The first section of the agenda focused on ensuring all project partners had a good general overview of project and aims. The afternoon session was dedicated to creating action plans for the first 12 months of the project and the agenda ended with items on project management, dissemination, and communication. importantly, the consortium got to know one another during the coffee breaks, at lunch and during a dinner after the meeting had finished. We look forward to our next meeting in Prague in March 2020.
